The Tudor travellers spent a
weekend at Gainsborough Old Hall in Lincolnshire. We provided the
household staff for the hall which meant we got to work in the
wonderful medieval kitchen. The entire venue is inside, along with
kitchen staff we also provided a huntsman, a carpenter and the
steward to King Henry VIII. We cooked; mutton, chicken, venison,
beef, coney, pies, pottage and farts. Every thing that was cooked in
the Great Kitchen was eaten on the day.
